Late last year and just prior to Go Yoko’s conception the seed was sown for our sound in the form of a mini solo album I put together under the guise of Bang Ce Soir.  It was a little experimental affair which was a welcome release from the constraints of formulaic song writing and itself became the jump off point for ourselves Go Yoko!. A nice little review of it has just surfaced in the local Southend Culture magazine ‘Level 4’. As the magazine is actually made from old fashioned real paper and everything I’ve had put up a little piccie up here. You can have a listen for yourself over on spotify or grab the full Album over on Amazon

We hope you like! Plus you can still download our own debut EP ‘Uno’ totally free from our Soundcloud page here.

We should have some exciting updates for you all soon as new material seems to be bursting out of all sort of places, we’d probably best put a gig together so you can let rip some of your splendid dance moves to it all.

Cheers!

Russ

Here’s a recent piece of music we’ve put together for an award winning animation artist Neil Whitman.
It’s for his current showreel which excellently showcases the variety of his brilliant work.
If you need any animation for your projects I’d highly recommend getting in touch with him.
More information can be found over at Neil Whitman Animations.

This is a trimmed down sneak peek at a new track which may well be making an appearance on our next release. Having regularly scored soundtracks for productions under the Guise of Neon Monkey it’s become a natural progression that myself and Darren as Go Yoko would ourselves embrace our film influences and also work with filmmakers on scoring future productions. We like to keep an open mind to utilising our music outside of the traditional media so please get in contact if you’d like to collaborate with any of your funky future creative visions.
Here’s the showreel and track!

you can’t go wrong with a bit if Caberet Voltaire.

On the backside of our debut EP “Uno!” being recently released we’re spotting some nice little reviews popping up that went under our radar. ‘Consequence Of Sound’ are one of those who have cast their beady ears over it, we think we like what they say.
You can read it here http://consequenceofsound.net/2011/12/album-review-go-yoko-uno-ep/

Also remember you can download the full EP for free here if you haven’t already, http://www.soundcloud.com/goyoko

we’d be very interested to hear what you think too!

Cheers,
Wook and the Pain Boy!

MATT MUSIC MONDAY — One Track Lover (Full Version)

This is it.  This song was the start of the obsession for me.  If it weren’t for this song, this blog wouldn’t be here, lol.

It’s been brought to our attention today that the album launch party (Aurora due out 27th Feb) has already happened. Paul Wolfe was given the task of holding the party; which he did… just without telling the rest of the band where or when it will be. It’s now clear why! The party was held last Saturday 17th February in Calangute; Goa, India. Hope you all had fun coming to the party to support our launch! The album is available from Amazon and all other reputable download sites (iTunes / CD Baby etc) amazon d/l link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aurora/dp/B0078F9NBW/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_t_1

Go Yoko! are a new British based Electronica Dance duo, rising from the ashes of electropopsters The Vanity Clause and re-assembled as a unique live dance act. Go Yoko’s frenetic beats and dark, pulsating rythyms represent a natural progression inspired by an incendiary performance at last years leading UK electronic festival Glade.

Through experiments with organic sampling, analogue synths and live visuals, Go Yoko! present a fresh approach to rhythms and beat creation melded with haunting soundscapes and twisted arrangements. They combine their unique formula with their New Wave roots and sci-fi with strong influences from Kraftwerk, The Chem Bros, Nine Inch Nails, Orbital and Daft Punk with an added sinister injection of John Carpenter.

….”Go Yoko! can regularly be heard making sounds akin to Vangelis fighting his way out of Tron armed with a moog liberation and a TB303”.…ourownquotes.com
